Look and Think Outside Your Area

Q. What are creative ways to enhance the value of our ticket offers beyond the traditional ticket and food specials?
 

A. You may want to look outside of sports for new, fresh ideas.  I’m not suggesting sports teams are not creative with its ticket packaging, because many certainly more creative than I ever could be, but its fun and usually helps the creative process when you look and think outside your area. Investing in Group Ticket Sales

Q. Is it really worth the investment of time and money to try and promote and sell group tickets for sports like soccer and volleyball when tickets are only $5 and the group price is half that price?

Sell In-Arena Promotions Opportunities

Q. We’d like to more aggressively sell our in-arena hockey promotions and wondering if you have any suggestions on the best way to promote these opportunities on our website?

Baseball Season Promotion for Next Season

Q. With the College World Series in full swing, what new promotion did you see this year in baseball that you recommend colleges – as well as minor and major league baseball – consider adding to their promotions schedule next year?
 

A. I really like the Cleveland Indians Play Catch with Dad on Jacobs Field promotion. On Father’s Day, the Indians hosted its second annual “Play Catch on Jacobs Field,” and over 900 dads and their kids participated with over $10,000 being donated to the Indian’s charity. (more…)

Where To Start Prospecting

Q. Where is the best place for new sales people to prospect for leads? It seems like all the great leads are already taken by others sales people.
 
A. I always recommend starting internally before going external. Many sales execs do the exact opposite; go external and don’t even think about the uncovered internal leads. (more…)

Transferring Best Practices to High Schools

Customized Group Ticket Flyers

Q. When it comes to group ticket flyers, is it best to customize flyers for groups or simply provide group brochure and customize the group experience?
 

A. I recommend you prepare three to three to four group ticket flyer templates you and your sales team can use. This way, all you need to do is customize the headline, ensure proper pricing, and add the group’s logo and any short tidbits special to the group. (more…)

Thoughts on the WNBA Season to Date
