Mocs Father’s Day Season Tickets
June 15th 2009
I like what the Chattanooga Athletics Department has created with its Father’s Day football season ticket special. Fans get their Dad a pair of season tickets for only %55, which is a 40% savings off the regular season ticket price.
If the 40% savings isn’t enough to win you over, there’s more. The package includes Mocs Visor, a Mocs koozie, and a certificate announcing the “Father’s Day Special” purchase.
Finally, additional season tickets are also available with this offer for just $27.50 each.

Vendor-Client Relationship in Real World
June 1st 2009
I came across a video featuring the vendor-client relationship in the real world and the pricing pressures many sales people are feeling with the down economy. Enjoy the video and the great responses to each request to lower prices; very well done.

Three Sports Business Networks
May 25th 2009
A few weeks ago, we created three sports business LinkedIn groups as a result of a Sports Business People List created that includes sports business people who are active on Twitter. The list doesn’t include coaches and players, but is a list of 300-plus sports business people.
I was encouraged to form groups on LinkedIn, and here are the groups we created that you may be interested to join: The Sports Business Executives Network, the Sport Marketing Executives Network, and the Ticket Sales and Retention Network.
Each of these groups, which are free to join, have been created for members to interact, share and innovate together with news, events, insights, mutual help and more.

Notre Dame’s DeBartolo Center for the Performing Arts, DTSB and the College Football Hall of Fame have formed a neat partnership to offer Outdoor Movie Nights on the Gridiron. This is a terrific idea and collaborative effort between sports and performing arts.

Sports Teams Apply Variable Ticket Pricing
May 18th 2009
I read an interesting story in The New York Times regarding how baseball teams are using variable ticket pricing, similar to airlines and hotels.
The article offers some great insights on how the Giants are using software that “weighs ticket sales data, weather forecasts, upcoming pitching matchups and other variables to help decide whether the team should raise or lower prices right up until game day.”
