Create Sales Contests to Motivate the Team
March 24th 2008
While taking in the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball games during March Madness, I’m reminded of the value of competitive contests.
Each coach and player participating in the NCAA Basketball Tournament understands they must win to move on, and if they lose they go home.
In business, sales managers also understand the value of competitive sales contests. Invest in a Great Mascot
March 17th 2008
Not all sports teams see the value of investing in a great mascot, but those teams that do make the investment benefit in many ways.
A mascot traditionally is a part of the in-game entertainment, but those teams that engage a mascot in every phase of its business benefit the most.
Whether it’s a timeout skit, a community appearance, engaging fans in the upper deck, assisting with closing a corporate partnership, entertaining season ticket holders, performing at a birthday party, or simply mascot bloopers, mascots can entertain, generate revenue, extend your brand messaging, and create excellent visibility and awareness for a sports organization.

Create an “Event” to Kick Off Ticket Sales
March 3rd 2008
As we move closer to March Madness, baseball has been creating some madness of its own, as single-game tickets recently went on sale for many of the minor and major league baseball teams.
What’s all the madness? For some fans, it’s all about who can be the first in line for sales, and it’s become tradition for those who relish being No. 1 in line. (more…)
