Parking Shortage Leads to Satellite Parking

Q. We struggle with a shortage of parking spaces on campus for our athletic events. What alternatives have colleges developed to address this issue?
A. One great way to address a shortage of parking is by creating satellite parking at a sponsor location – or a mall – and provide charter bus transportation to and from the sponsor or mall parking lot.
Along with packaging the ticket and bus transportation, you could create partnerships with the mall and the stores within the mall to also offer coupons from each store and possibly tie-in a discounted meal.
Additionally, the mall locations might want to provide enter to win prizes to build a database of prospective buyers, as well as offer giveaways for contests held on the bus transportation to and from the game.
