Offer Complimentary Shuttle Service
June 19th 2007
If fans have to walk a long distance to your arena or your stadium, why not offer complimentary shuttle service?
I know some professional sports teams do offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the arena, but I believe complimentary shuttle service is more rare than it is common with college athletics events.
While at Disney World last week, we had the choice of taking a complimentary monorail or Ferry boat from the parking and transportation center to the theme park.
We chose the ferry to the park and the monorail from the park to the transportation center, and each were a quick and easy way to get to and from the park.
The rides also added to our overall experience versus dreading a long walk to and from the park, as some fans may feel when they attend a sporting event.
How many fans make that walk one time and never come back to one of your events? How many fans limit the number of games they attend because of long walks to and from your sporting events?
Offering complimentary rides to and from your parking venues (instead of long walks), may not offer your fans exercise – which we all could use – but you just might increase your event attendance and overall fan satisfaction by offering your fans a complimentary shuttle service and to and from your arena or stadium.
