I’ve always been intrigued with inventions, and I learned the other day that someone is working on creating a motorcycle that can convert into a snowmobile.
I checked out the website, and although the machine wasn’t exactly how I pictured it might be, it’s a great concept and I’ll be interested to see if this invention actually makes it to the market.
You can check out the website here.

I came across an intense, very moving film, “The States of Grace, ” which is a sequel to “God’s Army, ” a movie I have not viewed.
“The States of Grace” movie was released in 2005, but it wasn’t until last week that I read movie reviews and felt motivated to check it out.
In short, it’s one of the best Christian films I’ve watched. You can view the movie trailer here.

This past week I had the opportunity to serve as a camp counselor for K-2nd grade boys at a week-long elementary school-age church camp in the Utah mountains near Coalville, which is about two hours from Salt Lake City.
My original intentions a few months ago were to attend the camp with our seven-year-old daughter because it was “highly recommended” parents attend with their children who are K-1st grade and who have never been away from home for an extended period of time. (more…)

I was reading a Seth Godin book this past week and also watching a few of his presentations, and his latest book – The Dip – challenges people to face when they are about to be mediocre versus remarkable, which if you’ve read Godin’s Purple Cow, you’ll know why being remarkable is important to those desiring to be successful in business.
I then came across this quote, which didn’t have an author, but I thought was a terrific compliment to Godin’s thoughts on creating something “want to talk about.” Here’s the quote: (more…)

I received the following thoughts on how youth is a state of mind and thought I’d share the thoughts below. The author is unknown and I hope you enjoy:
“Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind;. It is not matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions, it is the freshness of the deep springs of life. (more…)

In baseball, some teams allow its season ticket holders the opportunity to run the bases. In basketball, season ticket holders usually have an opportunity to shoot a free throw on their favorite team’s court. Football teams usually host its annual meet the team event on the field where players sign autographs.
So if you’re a motor speedway, what “experience” do you offer your season ticket holders? (more…)

Did you know “National Kissing Day” is on Fri, July 6?
I had never heard of the holiday until I read about it this past week. The holiday is actually celebrated in Britain. I think it’s just another way flower shops are trying to sell more flowers. (more…)

I read an interesting online article from Brandweek on How Marketers Will Seek Gold at the 50th Daytona 500. Whether you’re into auto racing or not, it’s an interesting read on how markers will activate millions on the “The Great American Race, ” which is slated for Feb 17.
Although over seven months away, the article points out there will be nearly 50 products branded with the 50th anniversary logo on store shelves this week.
