I haven’t watched a great deal of the Olympics, but I have been able to catch a few performances here and there, and I’m amazed at the athleticism and ease in which the athletes perform.
There’s no question any of the athletes are blessed with God-given talent, but there are also those athletes who may not have the level of talent some of the competing athletes possess, yet the work they invested, and their desire and passion to compete and win earns them a special place among the best in the world.
Those are the ones I enjoy seeing compete the most. I guess because in many ways I can relate. (more…)

I’ve had the pleasure the last few years to assist my high school class with reunion events, which has involved coordinating the search of classmates.
I’ve learned through these efforts that many classmates remained in the area where we grew up, or relocated to a nearby city to live. I’ve also learned a number of classmates relocated to other states and stretch from California to Massachusetts, and many places in between. (more…)

I witnessed a class baseball game promotion while at Sacramento River Cats game last week.
Early in the game, a fan reached out and snagged a foul ball popped up behind the backstop.
Without missing a beat, the PA said to fans: “The fan who just caught that ball has won a free haircut from Super Cuts.” (more…)
