There’s been a great deal of talk about the “down economy” and not a whole lot of positive conversations. The economy should definitely raise concerns, and we all can do our part to be more fiscally responsible, but it also creates so many positive opportunities.

For those who know me, I enjoy keeping things positive, looking on the bright side, and finding the opportunity where a challenge or two have been presented. I never met a challenge I didn’t enjoy. My feeling is, no matter what the outcome may be, there’s always a lesson to be learned.

I feel the same way about today’s economy and all we’re experiencing. There are some excellent lessons we all can learn, including our children, about how we can respond when times are tough; how to help others and share; and it’s not so bad to give up things we think we need, but as it turns out, they’re things we really don’t “need.”

As yourself this: What are you thankful for today? Make a list of everything you’re thankful for and I’m guessing you’ll be quite surprised how long that list is. If you find yourself down or wishing things were better, pull out your list and smile. No matter what the economy is today or tomorrow, we have so much to be thankful for today.
