The Super Bowl Is Top Brand

February 2nd 2007

According to Forbes, the Super Bowl is the most valuable brand. When I read the story and how Forbes calculated the brand value, it was clear how the Super Bowl came out on top.

I was surprised to see, however, the Rose Bowl ranked No. 5, the Kentucky Derby No. 8 and the NBA Finals ranked No. 10. Many friends have shared with me their Kentucky Derby experiences and the two-minute race must really be something to be ranked ahead of the World Series and NBA Finals.

The Kentucky Derby is actually one sporting event I’d like to experience, and hope I do in the near future.

The Summer Olympics, which Forbes reports will take in more revenue ($3 billion) next summer than any other sporting event, is ranked No. 2, and the Winter Olympic Games is No. 7.

Check out the article for yourself and see what you think of the rankings. The calculations and valuations are fascinating.
