To get in the Thanksgiving spirit, I’m sharing a few things I came across for Thanksgiving that you may also find interesting and/or helpful.
I read the article, “Turkey Talk: Help Your Kids Understand the True Meaning of Thanksgiving, ” which shared some neat ideas parents could consider doing with their kids to get them in the Thanksgiving spirit and why we celebrate Thanksgiving each November.
A neat event a friend shared with me is “Turkey Talk with Dad, ” which is an event that was hosted at hisdaughter’s school. What a great idea. I remember a few years ago, I attending a “Dads and Donuts” event at our daughter’s school, and although I try to stay away from donuts and choose healthier snacks, it was fun sitting outside with our daughter, enjoying a donut and orange juice, and catching up on whatever she wanted to discuss.
Finally, it seems every where I turn I’m hearing about a “Turkey Trot, ” which is typically a 5k run, and recently while at a local Chamber luncheon, a registration form was distributed to each person at the meeting. Well, since the “trot” is right here in our neighborhood, why on “trot” on Thanksgiving, just before diving into the food and fun?
We all have so much to be thankful for each and every day. Whether you choose to use one of the ideas from the article link, talk turkey with your kids, participate in a Turkey Trot, or choose another family tradition or activity, I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for taking time to read The Telios Group blog.
