Remember Images versus Word Association

April 23rd 2007

I struggle to remember names from time-to-time, and I read an article that stated 95 percent of Americans forget names.

I actually thought I was part of the five percent that forget names versus the 95 percent, but regardless, I’d like to improve my ability to remember people’s names.

I’ve always tried to remember names by word association, but this article pointed out we remember best in images. That’s definitely the case for me.

This is an easy change. All I need to do is replace the “word” association with “image” association and I should remember more names.

Conceptually, it sounds easy. I’ll put the new strategy in motion this week and see just how easy it is to visually remember names.
