I enjoy participating in mentoring programs. It’s a terrific way to pass on what others have given to me and assist youth, as well as up and coming executives in the sports business and in life.
A retailer has developed the “Follow a Leader” initiative that’s a creative essay program where youth have the opportunity to win a day with a leader, a $1, 000 savings bond, lunch with a leader, and $5, 000 for their school.
It’s a terrific contest with some great prizes, and what I like most of all is that it positively impacts today’s youth and the community. I wish more businesses were this creative with their marketing efforts that not only brings great visibility and awareness to their business, but also significantly impacts youth and the community.
