A few weeks ago, my wife purchased four boxes of Rice Krispies cereal because they were on sale for a great price.  As much as I appreciate my wife being a shrewd shopper, there’s no way I was going to consume one bowl of Rice Krispies, let alone four boxes of them.

Apparently our kids felt the same way, because not one of the boxes was opened until yesterday.  That’s when I discovered just how smart my wife is.

Believe it or not, I enjoyed Rice Krispies for breakfast this morning, but only after my wife opened each of the Rice Krispies boxes and made a few dozen Rice Krispies treats.  It didn’t take long for the kids and I to finish off the treats, and of course my wife sported a grin each time one of us snuck in the kitchen to grab a treat.

The next time she shops the Rice Krispies sale, I hope she doesn’t wait two weeks to convert the boxes of cereal to treats!

I love that so many are amazed at the power of Rice Krispies Treats – the homemade ones are wonderful (so much better than prepackaged). Now that you told everyone on your blog and on twitter how smart your wife is, make sure you tell her too!

If she needs another recipe to use up those Rice Kripies tell her to look at my blog from last month on Cranberry Almond Bark. Yummy and easy.

Brooke: Thank you for sharing the recipe!

Robyn: I agree; I like the homemade Rice Krispies treats the best, and no worries, I shared with my wife just how smart (and beautiful) 😉 she is!
