Welcome message from Ron Goch
Welcome
to The Telios Group web site and thank you for visiting
us.
Remember
when we were growing up as kids? I know, it was
a long time ago, but the images of our dreams are as
vivid today as they were all those years ago.
The
dreams of intercepting a pass and running the length
of a football field for a touchdown (this one still remains
a dream). The dreams of one day meeting and having
a picture taken with the president at the White House
(I actually was fortunate to experience this one…no,
I wasn’t dreaming). And, the dream of retiring
to that log cabin in the mountains (I’m not ready
for retirement, and not sure I ever will be).
Well,
those were some of my childhood dreams, but I also dreamed
about what I wanted to be when I grew up. I’ve
always had a passion for sports, and I enjoyed playing
and competing in every sport imaginable. Oh, I
also dreamed of what it would be like to be a professional
athlete, but knew my chances of hitting a hole-in-one
were better!
One
day, while a senior at Winona State University in Winona,
Minnesota, I was asked by the women’s basketball
coach if I knew of a student who might be interested
in being the media relations director for the women’s
athletic teams. Without hesitation I said, “I
sure do Coach! Me!”
The
next week, I started as the first full-time women’s
media relations director at Winona State, over two decades later, I’m still living my dream of
working (can this really be considered work?) in sports.
I’ve
truly been blessed and thankful to so many people who’ve
graciously helped me along the way. In an industry
where winning is the ultimate, so many people have taken
extra time or gone the extra mile in hopes I’d
win.
Over
the years, I’ve tried to give back and pass on
what so many have passed along to me. There’s
something very special about sharing what you have received,
being truly generous with all you have been given.
I
founded The Telios Group with this mission, to pass on
all that I have been given and to help people and organizations
be successful and fulfill their own dreams.
If
you’re one of the many people who took the time
for me along the way, I say thank you for your time – one
of our most precious gifts - and mentorship, and most
of all, your friendship.
To
those I’ve yet to have the pleasure of working
with, I hope we meet soon. It would be my pleasure
to pass on what others have graciously passed on to me.
All
the best,
Ron
Goch
