The year following the Lady Vols first National Championship, I arrived on the UT campus in Knoxville to be a graduate assistant in the women’s athletics department, and it was during my second year the Lady Vols won their second National Championship. I returned to Knoxville for a second time to work at UT during the 1996-97, and just like my first trip to Knoxville, the Lady Vols had won a National Championship (their fourth) the year before. The Lady Vols went on to win their fifth National Title in ’97, and then won their third consecutive – and sixth overall – championship in 1998…which incidentally was the same year the Vol football team won its National Championship.
