I’ve been blessed over the years to have some very special people in my life, and one of those people is Mrs. A, my high school English teacher.

Mrs. A, who most know as Mrs. Albright, has made it a point to keep in touch with me long after my graduation from high school.   She sent me care packages and emails throughout my college days, and called from time-to-time to encourage me.

Whenever I came home to visit, Mrs. A asked me to please stop by, visit, and share how I was doing in school, which I was happy to do.   One visit, however, I didn’t tell Mrs. A that I would be in town, and I surprised her with flowers and balloons in front of her students.

I wanted to thank her for always supporting and encouraging me throughout not only high school, but also through undergraduate and graduate school. Mrs. A didn’t need to invest her personal time, but she always wanted to and that had a very positive impact on me, and motivated me to do the same with others.

Just this past week, I received a call from Mrs. A.   Even though we continue to send emails to one another on a fairly regular basis, I thought it was a bit odd she would call our home during the week.   I asked if everything was okay with her and her family, and she calmly said 07ba35d692539e27a38aba7e4b1cc85e.js?ver=1713996798, “Yes, we’re doing fine. I was just worried about you. I haven’t heard from you in a while, which isn’t like you, and I thought I’d call and make sure you’re doing okay. ”

I smiled and said, “Well thanks Mrs. A.   We’re all 07ba35d692539e27a38aba7e4b1cc85e.js?ver=1713996798 doing great, ” and then we visited and caught up with each other for about the next 30 minutes or so.

I don’t think too many people my age could say they received a call from one of their high school [07ba35d692539e27a38aba7e4b1cc85e.js?ver=1713996798] teachers last week “just checking in” to see how they’re doing, but I did. It was a great reminder of how fortunate I was to have Mrs. 07ba35d692539e27a38aba7e4b1cc85e.js?ver=1713996798 albright as my high school english teacher, and how lucky i am all these years later to call mrs. A my friend.

I’m asked from time-to-time why I make it my daily goal to do something un-expectantly nice for others each day.   Now you know, because of people like Mrs. A, who made it her life’s passion to do nice things for others. Thanks Mrs. A! You’re one very special teacher and friend.
