Take Time to Review, Reflect & Reinvest

February 23rd 2007

What do you do when you finish a sales meeting with a prospective client?  Jump back in your car and head back to the office, moving on to the next project at hand, returning email messages from your Blackberry, or returning voice mail messages you received while in the meeting?

All those things are important, but before you move on to those tasks, I encourage you to review and reflect on what just took place.  What did you do well, what could you improve, and if you were in the position of the person you just met with, what would be his or her takeaways from your meeting?

What did you learn from this sales meeting?  Did you ask enough questions and listen attentively?  Did your follow up questions derive from whatever information your prospect provided you?

Take what you learned and invest it in your next sales call.  By reviewing, reflecting and reinvesting in yourself, you’ll become an excellent sales executive.
