Group Leader Rewards Programs

December 31st 2007

Q. It appears sports teams are creating group leader rewards programs, which is something we have not done yet.  Could you provide examples of sports team’s group leader programs for us to consider?

A. Many sports teams do provide group leader benefits and incentives.

For example, the Reebok Rewards Program was created by the Indianapolis Colts to reward group ticket leaders for taking time out of their schedule to organize a group outing with the Colts. All rewards are based on the total number of tickets per order and benefits are as follows:

20-99 tickets: One Colts “Super Bowl Champion” hat; 100-199 tickets: One Colts hat plus a Colts duffle bag; 200-349 tickets: One Colts duffle bag, one Colts hat and a Reebok shoe certificate for a free pair of shoes; 350+ tickets:  One Colts jacket, Reebok shoe certificate and a Colts autographed ball.

Here are three other team group ticket leader rewards and strategies to consider:

1. LA Galaxy: Rewards group leaders by the number of games they bring a group.

2. NY Mets: Reward group leaders with everything from a pen to a baseball cap and a personalized warm-up jacket to a suite for 15 people.

3. Florida Everblades: Reward group leaders with autographed pucks and sticks, as well as pairs of complimentary tickets to future games.
