We’ve all heard during our lifetime how important preparation is to success. Benjamin Franklin once said, “Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.”
I watched a special feature on Peyton Manning, and although I’ve always been impressed with Peyton Manning the person as much as Peyton Manning the football player, I gained another level of respect for Peyton’s well documented meticulous preparation.
Personally, I enjoy being prepared and many times I’m accused by family and friends of “over-preparing.” After watching the Peyton Manning special, I’m convinced I have much room for improvement on my preparation.
I read a couple articles online – one in the USA Today by Tom James, Spotlight on Peyton Manning, and another one in Sports Illustrated by Peter King, Manning’s Meticulous Preparation Keys Colts’ Victory, and there’s no question we could all learn from Peyton’s drive to prepare well in all he does.
As the old adage goes, “Luck is a crossroad where preparation and opportunity meet.” Are you prepared today – at this very moment – to take advantage of your many opportunities?
